An IRCC authorization that, in situations set out in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, allows work for any eligible employer, without a labour market impact assessment tied to a specific job.
An open work permit authorizes the holder to work for one or more employers in Canada, subject to occupation restrictions and the conditions printed on the permit.
It is not available to every applicant. Eligibility depends on a specific IRCC category (for example spousal work, certain bridging measures or other ministerial instructions).
We first determine whether an open-permit category applies to your status, then prepare the application (forms, proof of status and supporting documents) according to IRCC instructions.
